    Description

    I have the honor and privilege of selling the collection of an avid and discerning collector of Mauchline Ware consisting of transfer, checker, Parian and tartan ware with a smattering of a few other finishes. I will be listing them in bite size batches over the next several months so that over time collectors can absorb the depth and breadth of the collection. This gentleman amassed an amazing collection of pieces, some of which I have never seen before and I have seen many collectors' collections over the years. This tomahawk, axe, or hatchet is commemorates the life of Gladstone. The photo of Gladstone, one of Britain's Prime Ministers, reads Right Hon W.E. Gladstone. On the reverse The words  In Memory of the right Hon. W.E Gladstone, Born 29th December 1809/Died 19th May 1898 It is in excellent overall condition with some minor wear perhaps a small dent or scratch here or there as a result of it's age and handling. The piece measure 6" long, 3 1/8" wide and  3/8" thick.  White spots, if any, are camera glare. Successful buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance and payment must be received within ten (10) business days of the close of the auction or the sale may be voided.
