I have the honor and privilege of selling the collection of an avid and discerning collector of Mauchline Ware consisting of transfer, checker, Parian, tartan, black lacquer and Tunbridge ware with a smattering of a few other finishes. I will be listing them in bite size batches over the next several months so that over time collectors can absorb the depth and breadth of the collection. This gentleman amassed an amazing collection of pieces, some of which I have never seen before, and I have seen many collectors' collections over the years. This incredible tartan souvenir book is decorated with Stuart Tartan boards. This unique book has 120 gorgeous chromolithographs depicting the various regions and landscapes of Scotland: the cities, lakes and mountain ranges, etc. I have never seen anything like this before and it is a gem. Other than the front book board cover, which is completely separated from the original leather binding, it is in overall excellent condition. All of the inside pages and chromos are in excellent condition. The leather binding can be fixed by experts who specialize in these matters in order to preserve the integrity of the book. However, please look at the pictures to see the overall condition of the piece to your satisfaction. The book closed and laying down, measures approximately 7 7/8" long by 6.25 wide and 1.5" in height. White spots, if any, are camera glare. Successful buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance and payment must be received within ten (10) business days of the close of the auction or the sale may be voided.
