Mauchline Transfer Ware Burns Birthday Book Transfer of Burns Cottage Alloway

I have the honor and privilege of selling the collection of an avid and discerning collector of Mauchline Ware consisting of transfer, checker, Parian and tartan ware with a smattering of a few other finishes. I will be listing them in bite size batches over the next several months so that over time collectors can absorb the depth and breadth of the collection. This gentleman amassed an amazing collection of pieces, some of which I have never seen before and I have seen many collectors' collections over the years. This Burns Birthday Book with Birthday wishes from himself has a large, detailed transfer of Burns' cottage in Alloway and a Burns poem at the bottom of the book cover.
The book has a verse for each day of the year and a place for notations. It was published by W.F. Nimmo, Hay & Mitchell of Edinburgh. The piece is in excellent overall condition, with only slight wear due to age, but please peruse the photos to assess the condition of the piece before bidding. It measures  4 3/8" long or wide, 3.5" deep and it is 5/8" high when laying on its side. White spots, if any, are camera glare. Successful buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance and payment must be received within ten (10) business days of the close of the auction or the sale may be voided.
