    Description

    I have the honor and privilege of selling the collection of an avid and discerning collector of Mauchline Ware consisting of transfer, checker, Parian and tartan ware with a smattering of a few other finishes. I will be listing them in bite size batches over the next several months so that over time collectors can absorb the depth and breadth of the collection. This gentleman amassed an amazing collection of pieces, some of which I have never seen before and I have seen many collectors' collections over the years. This cauldron shaped vessel may have been for holding trinkets, etc. It's utility is not definitively
    known. It has a transfer of Melrose Abbey on one side and on the reverse, it states that is From the Banks of the Tweed Abbotsford.
    It has an unusual metal handle
    and three feet carved of bone. The piece is in excellent overall condition, with the exception of rubbing away of or factory flaw which occurred when the transfer was applied so that there is some detail missing as seen in the photos, but please peruse the photographs to assess the condition of the piece before bidding. It measures  2.0" tall and it is 2.25" in diameter at its widest. White spots, if any, are camera glare.
