Please consider that a lot of
"
ground-down-to-fit"
replacement power cords being offered online simply cannot perform in the same manner as ours in both form and function.  1) Polarized extension cord
s from the local hardware store which are subjected to the grinding process simply won't work in the same manner once delivered, unless the
incompatible
male socket end is either replaced or further modified....an important fact that others neglect to disclose.  2) Any modified cord claiming a previously awarded "UL Listed" safety standard is misleading, inaccurate and unfair to the potential buyer.  3)  Those m
odified and degraded cords can be downright hazardous to the unsuspecting buyer.  The
grinding process can cause the protective insulation to break down and carbonize, and can also cause the failure of the internally fused contacts within the end socket(s).
...so
please don't forget that a faulty power cord can spark an unsuspecting hazard whether or not the machine is turned off, or while asleep or away from home.
So, if choosing to purchase a modified and degraded cord simply because it will fit and cost less...we strongly recommend
unplugging your machine
from the wall receptacle after every use and never leave the machine unattended.  We sell a lot of power cords to buyers who had dire experiences with previously purchased modified cords.
